仙台の福祉施設　就労支援センター「ひゅーまにあ広瀬川」と共同で開発を進めてきた、施設に通う身体・知的・精神障害者が制作可能な家具です。
センターに新たな職場環境を生み出すと同時に、働く人が家具を作るというクリエイティブな行為を通した達成感が得られるなど、心の環境にも寄与します。
また、多くの家具工房から出た端材を使って制作しているため、デザインの可能性を拡げると共に地球環境にも配慮しています。
材料は、家具工房から出る合板の端材をパッチワーク状につなぎ合わせ、再び合板状にした板です。
つなぎ合わせる際の組み合わせは、余った端材を用いるため、表情がそれぞれに違い豊かなものになります。
pivotoがその板を切り出し、パーツにした後、各パーツをセンターでペーパーがけをして組み立てていきます。
釘、ボンドなどを一切使わず相欠きや込み栓の技術を使って完成します。

coyaaは公共空間における人とペットの共存を目的に作りました。
不特定多数の人が使用するからこそ生まれる状況や情景をサポートします。
coyaaでは、人が好きな場所を見つけて座り、ペットが所々に開いた穴から顔を出し、小屋のようにも機能します。
ペットとの生活が一般的になった現代、彼らとの関係を彩ってくれるものが益々必要とされています。

coyaa is a furniture project which pivoto has a collaboration with a welfare facility in Sendai(Tohoku). We developed furniture which possible to make for the disabled people there.
This project creates new working environment for them and bring a sense of accomplishment through such creative activity.
That is to say, this furniture contributes to their mental environment too.
Also this project is engaged in the reconstruction effort for Tohoku Earthquake by conducting a welfare facility in Sendai(Tohoku) for production.

The purpose of coyaa is a coexistence with pet in public space.
coyaa supports various situations and sceneries in public space such like the general public share.
People can sit in their comfortable spot of coyaa and pet peeks out holes at intervals.
Now-a-days, the life style with pet is so common. Furniture highlights the life style with pet is necessary more.

coyaa is made by using left over wood in pivoto factory and other furniture factory.
It makes it possible to spread the design possibility and it gives consideration to earth’s environment.
The material is the board connected left over woods like patchwork.
The combination of left over woods is different in each parts and each parts are so expressive.
The process is pivoto makes boards with left over woods and cut each parts. After pivoto cut each parts, we send them to the welfare facility in Sendai.
There, the disabled people do sanding and assemble together each parts.
It’s possible to assemble together not by using screw and glue but by using technique like rabbet.
